Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. With "On this device only", the default, your surveys stay on your device and you need no account. An account is only needed to sync surveys between your own devices.

Does Keelmark work without internet?

Yes. Every survey feature works offline, on deck and at sea. In sync mode, changes are sent when a connection is back.

How do I move a survey to another device without internet?

Use "Send survey to another device" to save the survey as a file, and "Open survey from another device" on the other device.

What happens to my surveys if I delete the app?

In "On this device only" mode they are deleted with the app, and we cannot recover them. Send any survey you need to another device first.

Which vessel data does Keelmark need?

The vessel's own data from its stability booklet: particulars, draft mark positions, hydrostatic tables and tank tables. Keelmark keeps them as its own tables, each row linked to the booklet page it came from.

Is Keelmark a loading instrument?

No. Keelmark is a draft survey and decision-support tool. It is not a class-approved loading instrument and does not replace the ship's approved loading computer or stability booklet.
